In our American democracy, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure the domestic Tranquility, provide for the “common defense”, “promote the General Welfare”, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution of the United States of America.” Preamble to the U.S. Constitution.

There is only one purpose of every government and that is for the government to provide for all the people, all those things they cannot provide for their self “as individuals”; in other words, our populations shares the necessities of life that an individual cannot provide for his or her self as an individual. It works like insurance.

And yes, this is also called socialism, or democratic socialism in the case of the democratic U.S.A.; however, every nation is socialistic in concept, like India, the United Kingdom, Russia, Nazi Germany, and the U.S.A. However, in America a citizen is allowed to profit from his own creativeness and ingenuity!

However, things like defense for example, the U.S. Army is a socialist entity, and so are roads and highways, and firemen and policemen, and public schools, Social Security, Medicare, and The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), today! It means a united people taking care of and, “loving their neighbor as their self”. It is like “insurance”, and all and every of our citizens, are beneficiaries.

Poor Americans are NOT LAZY, many are unemployable for a variety of reasons; but lazy is not the cause of being poor; many Americans work full time and are poor and the unemployed poor work harder and longer hours than many employed Americans, just to survive day to day without having a job.

Here is the definition of a poor person, in English language, Webster Dictionary description of poor: “Lacking material possessions.” Got it?

A poor person becomes poor in many ways, lost their job, got sick and couldn’t work, went bankrupt, was born with or injured causing defects that prevent normal employment, they are incapable of competing with you. I’ve personally known many poor Americans. If you perceive “poor people” being lazy, you just don’t know poor people and simply perceive them as your “inferior”! And one third of ALL American children lives in poverty!

So, I was a public school teacher my entire life and worked with poor kids with poor parents; I can tell you that they were not lazy.

And I can assure you that teaching school was not lucrative, so that my family and I lacked many “material possessions”! For much of my own life I worked two jobs to adequately provide for my family, and could identify with poor families who “lacked material possessions, including food, clothes, a home, heat, electricity, etc.”

Therefore, I don’t accept the idiotic concept that poor People are lazy. I’ve always been poor; I was born in the Great Depression, most people were poor, AND I’m not lazy! Fortunately as an adult, I was lucky to have always had the opportunity to work and pay taxes for among other things the well-being of my less fortunate neighbor; it is called, “loving your neighbor”, and caring for them, whoever they are.
