Today I was forwarded an email written by an ignorant (I know it sound presumptuous to use the term, ‘ignorant’, but that was the kindest adjective I could find to describe the author) Republican Extremist, espousing the virtues of ‘capitalistic competition to the death for survival’; they insisted that the U.S. Constitution was a capitalism manifesto and Democrats are elected to office by members of the American population living on government welfare, enjoying their leisure, and violating the U.S. Constitution by “stealing from the rich”.

As a person who spent my life studying the Constitution and as a teacher, teaching the virtues of American democracy that the U.S. Constitution provides for all Americans, to my students, I totally objected to the forwarded email; and, my description of the author as ‘ignorant’ is an act of compassion.

The economic issue is actually the difference between ‘cooperation’ and ‘competition’; the economic issue is the difference between ‘democracy’ and ‘laissez faire capitalism’; the economic issue is the difference between a more equal distribution of wealth and a ‘feudal’ society of lords and peasants; the issue is the difference between self-serving ‘greed’ and ‘compassion of all’; the economic issue is a mixture of politics, economics, and religious doctrine that separates extremist-capitalists and American democracy.

To understand American politics and economy, is to understand that the U.S. Constitution provided for a citizen’s Right to benefit from their ingenuity and creativeness; however, the U.S. Constitution provided for the cooperation of all citizens to join together in creating governmental institutions that provide for ALL citizens in a way that they cannot provide for their self, as individuals: institutions like the Post Office, the Army, Social Security, Medicare, Obamacare, etc.

The U.S. Constitution provides for ‘cooperation’; the U.S. Constitution does not provide for every citizen to compete to the death for every dollar earned. The U.S. Constitution provides for equality of economic opportunity.

It is truly amazing to me how religious doctrine becomes entangled in the America’s economy and governance; there seems to be a difference of opinion among Americans, about whether or not God is a capitalist or a socialist, as if there were ‘no other choice’, like democracy.

The U.S. Constitution is clear however; “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” This is referred to as the Separation of Church and State Powers Amendment that is so often ignored in American politics, economy, and everything else in America.

It should be noted that churches are actually corporate entities, a non-profit corporation, involved in the economy. Although, as such, churches enjoy a privilege of not being taxed because they do not participate in political or economic issues; that unfortunately, is often not the case and, some churches in America have attained considerable wealth as a ‘non-profit corporation’ and, of course, contributions from the wealthy are tax deductible.

In recent years, some churches have actually been actively ‘courted’ by various political and economic strategists.

Therefore, it is my contention that the political-economic ‘baloney’ in the email that I received, was written by someone who never studied the US Constitution; the someone who wrote this email, is someone who doesn’t know that the Constitutional forefathers never mentioned “capitalism” in the US Constitution but they did specifically give Congress the right to establish the US Post Office: “The Congress shall have Power . . . To establish Post Offices and post Roads.” Article I, section 8.

Our early American forefathers, who lived on the American frontier, were definitely not enamored with the competition of capitalists nor capitalism while facing the hazards of the frontier; our forefathers were totally dependent upon the ‘socialistic-concept’ of cooperation. On the frontier, our forefathers had to depend on each other and hope they could survive until a Federal Post Office was established in their village; the Post Office being an example of a cooperative effort by all Americans for the benefit of all and financed collectively.

More recently, I have become totally disgusted with greedy, hate-filled American predatory capitalists, who begrudge food stamps to a fellow American who has nothing to eat, and thinks only about destroying his own economic opponents to get whatever wealth that they have in addition to their own! That is predatory capitalistic competition at its worse.

By the U.S. Constitution, very American has a Right to profit from his own creativeness and ingenuity and that is all the capitalism that any Americans need.

And, these predatory capitalistic ignoramuses who want to eliminate our U.S. Post Office, eliminate all regulation of banking and business, eliminate Medicare, Obamacare, eliminate our public schools, and eliminate our democracy, those Americans need to remember that the ONLY reason for a People to even have a government is, “To do collectively, what one citizen cannot do as an individual.”

Capitalists owe the rest of Americans for their success in our democratic America; they didn’t do it all by their self. We the People had to issue them a license to do business in our democracy; we the People are their consumers and deserve respect.

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Some people in America who are running for office, believe that the American Dream is, “to invent something everyone needs, that costs a dime to produce, that sells for $10, and the inventor becomes the richest man in America” To the contrary, I have found most American dreaming of, “finding a decent job to support their family with reasonable job security and having health care insurance.” God bless America.

In today’s news, “Speaker Boehner’s Obama impeachment dress rehearsal”:

Republicans want to impeach President Obama and Speaker Boehner said, “The President has a clear record of ignoring the American people’s elected representatives.”

What! Excuse me, but I thought it was Congress who keeps trying to do the President’s job. Republicans are obviously, simply projecting their own sins onto President Obama; and actually, it is the Republican Congress that has been ignoring the American People who overwhelmingly elected President Obama . . . twice.

Besides, the Republicans cannot possibly impeach President Obama; because President Obama has not received oral sex from an intern!

In the news today, “House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) confirmed Wednesday that he intends to sue the Obama administration over its use of executive actions, which have been used to push through initiatives without congressional approval.”

A member of Congress suing a President in court (criminal or civil?) for doing what Presidents are elected to do for the People, is the most ridiculous thing that I ever heard; John Boehner has lost all respect from me. What in the world is the matter with the current Republican Party?

The Republican Party has become more of a threat to America and American democracy than foreign terrorists largely by not doing anything; there are things they should be doing.

Personally, I can call myself a Democrat because the Republican Party simply has not produced a superior Presidential candidate for me cast my vote; and I have not always been very enthusiastic about the Democratic candidate and would appreciate a viable alternative.

It is one thing for Republicans to not to want to do anything positive, but it is without honor for Republicans to stand in the way of Democrats who do. “When I think of the time gone by!”

Among a few other things, today’s Republican Party has proven to be absolutely worthless and the Republican Administration 2000 to 2008 (that received less popular vote than their opponent) was more destructive to America and American democracy than any foreign terrorists ever were. Americans cannot complain about Afghanistan and Iraq, we did it to ourselves; America’s wars of aggression are self-inflicted wounds.

Bin Laden’s incentive for his heinous 911 terrorist attack, was not an excuse for the attack, but America was certainly responsible for that incentive (putting an American military base in Saudi Muslim Holy Land in 1991); America showed it is entirely insensitive to Saudi and the world’s Muslim Peoples needs and faith. America was insensitive to the rest of the world’s People in 1991, and both American religious leaders and American politicians today are still insensitive to the religious beliefs and needs of other in this world.

Every day Americans, American Christian clerics, and some American military officers like Gen. Boykin are talking ‘hate-talk’ about Muslims without regard for eight million Americans who are Muslim believers, including some in the U.S. Armed Forces. Look at the civil strife in Iraq today; America did it, led by Republicans!

What hath Republicans wrought?

And America declared the Communist Party to be illegal in America and the Republican Party is more destructive than the Communist Party ever was.

Americans, this is not how you achieve world peace!

And of course, Speaker Boehner doesn’t have to be worried about being sued by the President for something Boehner did as Speaker of the House, BOEHNER HAS NOT DONE ONE DAMN MEANINGFUL THING IN FIVE YEARS!

As a high school teacher of US History and US Government, my most difficult job was to convince my students how important it was for them to learn our subject; it is most important for a teacher to persuade students that learning the subject is important to them ‘personally’.

One of my best ‘zingers’ for convincing students they needed to know about the U.S. Constitution and government, was when I taught them that Senators and Representatives were privileged and allowed to lie and misinform the People with impunity and also allowed them to ‘double park’ their car on the street.

Article I, Section 6 of the US Constitution: “Senators and Representatives shall . . . in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of Peace, be privileged from arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; AND FOR ANY SPEECH OR DEBATE IN EITHER HOUSE, THEY SHALL NOT BE QUESTIONED IN ANY OTHER PLACE.” (emphasis is mine)

This always turned out to be a great incentive for students to start reading their text books and doing a little research.

They were always flabbergasted at the thought that Congress could and do lie with impunity and were privileged by the Constitution to do it; when they were made aware, they sat up and took interest. It was obvious that they were offended by the fact that members of Congress were privileged to lie; they wanted Congress be required to tell them the truth and they wanted to believe Congress.

“Why,” they asked? “Why is Congress privileged to lie and misinform?”

That was, of course, a good question and a difficult question to answer because the student’s had to know what ‘democracy’ was and what ‘empirical evidence’ was and why we even have government, in order to understand that one small clause in the U.S. Constitution; so the privileges of Congressmen became an incentive for student to learn even more than the U.S. Constitution itself. It was something students realized that they ‘needed’ to know.

Now it seemed, school, learning, and the Constitution had some meaning beyond the students’ grades and graduating.

It has been a long time since I taught high school and my students are almost as old as I am now; many of my students, like my other ‘old friends’, have died. But the U.S. Constitution and my students were two of the most important things in my life; and now that I am long retired and have reached ‘latter days’ of my life, I do often think of my students and what I tried to teach and I wonder if it had any effect on their lives.

So when I look at the news media today and see what Members of Congress are saying and doing, I can’t help but wonder what kind of voters would elect such ridiculous political extremists; and, I sincerely hope that none of my students voted for them?

But I am also a realist. I worry that my students don’t remember that day in class when we learned together that Congressional persons are privileged to lie with impunity.

In the news today, “It was discouraging last week when discredited conservatives, who failed spectacularly on U.S. policy in Iraq, were given a media platform to talk about U.S. policy in Iraq. Last week’s Sunday shows alone, featuring the likes of Paul Wolfowitz and Bill Kristol . . . And then there was ABC’s “This Week,” which welcomed Dick Cheney for his third Sunday show appearance since March”:

How can the Corporate America owned and controlled media, without any sign of embarrassment, present Dick Cheney on national television as a spokesman for American foreign policy?

Cheney became Vice President only because his fishing buddy Justice on the Supreme Course took his “Bush vs Gore case” in spite of the US Constitution and, with 4 other Republican extremist Justices, declared Cheney to be Vice President in spite of the votes of the People (a vast majority of Americans voted for Cheney’s opponent); and then this man who was part of the Project for the New American Century, took America to war for the monetary benefit of Corporate American in the Mideast. And, Cheney was then responsible for torture of prisoners of war and as a consequence cannot even travel in the rest of the world, today, for fear of being subpoenaed for crimes against humanity.

Dick Cheney never served on day in the military of the United States of America; he was deferred from the Draft!

The American Corporate controlled and owned Media have totally “dumbed down” the People of America, made America hated in the rest of the world, and inspired American extremist to hate the First Black President of the United States of America and our democratic, duly elected government.

Where have all the flowers gone?

Today’s Americans are obsessed with and addicted to fossil fuel energy; the Americans are willing to sacrifice their son’s, brother’s, husband’s, father’s (and feminine equivalents) lives in a PNAC War in Iraq for oil, just for the privilege of driving their own expensive car, rather than taking an efficient and inexpensive public transportation or walking a few blocks. America’s great public transportation of the last century was eliminated and destroyed by the auto, oil, and steel lobbies, seventy years ago, lulling Americans into their current “Automobile Culture” obsession.

Americans spend more time sitting in their cars in a traffic grid during commute than they do walking.

And Americans get fatter and fatter and die of heart and lung disease for lack of exercise
I have lost all faith in American society; they allow and condone the auto and oil industry to determine their fate.

The character of Americans has changed drastically over the two centuries that their culture has existed; today, they are spineless! And they have earned the hatred of much of the rest of the world for their brutal aggression to control the world’s oil.

Heroic American soldiers have given their lives in Afghanistan and Iraq, for Corporate America’s monetary benefit and to assure dumb and dumber the privilege and gasoline to drive their personal auto to the corner drug store, instead of walking.

Where have all the flowers gone?

There is absolute proof that modern civilization and technology is getting dumber everyday; today, telephones, computers, etc. are all becoming “touch screen”. How in the world, is anyone going to see anything important with all those damn fingerprints all over the screen?

In the news today, “George Will defended his highly controversial column about sexual assault in an interview with C-Span on Friday. . .The conservative commentator sparked major controversy when he recently claimed that being a rape victim is now a “coveted status” on college campuses . . . In the interview, Will refused to take back any of his comments. Instead, he repeated the thrust of his initial message, worrying about the damage that sexual assault allegations would have on college men”:

Is it evil to wish to see George Will raped by a big, ugly, gun toting Tea Party member with bad breath at gunpoint; or, would that be poetic justice?

This is in the news today, “Bill Kristol, the editor of the Weekly Standard and one of the top cheerleaders for the Iraq War, has been singled out lately as one of the many war hawks who are popping up to give advice about Iraq’s current crisis.”

The news media never mentions the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) when discussing the invasion of Iraq in 2003 or Bill Kristol, it must be an obvious but apparent well-kept secret. Iraq and PNAC should be synonymous in discussions of the Iraq war; it was the PNAC IRAQ WAR.

Bill Kristol was the leader of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC), a extremist Right Wing think tank, who believed America should use its military superiority for the benefit of Corporate American financial interests overseas.

The PNAC wrote a letter to President Clinton, who at the time was President, insisting that the U.S.A. invade Iraq; President Clinton would not and did not.

PNAC members included: Elliott Abrams, Gary Bauer, William J. Bennett, Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, Eliot A. Cohen, Midge Decter, Paula Dobriansky, Steve Forbes, Aaron Friedberg, Francis Fukuyama, Frank Gaffney, Fred C. Ikle, Donald Kagan, Zalmay Khalilzad, I. Lewis Libby Norman Podhoretz, Dan Quayle, Peter W. Rodman, Stephen P. Rosen, Henry S. Rowen, Donald Rumsfeld, Vin Weber, George Weigel, Paul Wolfowitz.

Recognize any names? Have any questions about Iraq, or Afghanistan (who had nothing to do with 911 or bin Ladin, a Saudi)? It is a simple matter of adding two and two!

So why isn’t the PNAC ever mentioned in discussions of U.S. wars or foreign policy in the Corporate America owned and controlled Media?

Americans are not dumb, they are just dumbed-down by Corporate-America controlled Media. Research this for yourself.

Oh my Goodness! Rupert Murdoch lecturing Americans on immigration Reform!

In the news today: Rupert in his own Wall Street Journal, said, “I chose to come to America and become a citizen because America was—and remains—the most free and entrepreneurial nation in the world.”

Also perhaps, because only U.S. citizens can own U.S. TV networks, meaning that in order to own Fox News, Murdoch was required to become a U.S. Citizen, just as apparently, Republicans to want Mexican Farm Workers, to also have to be US citizens; or do they?

So, how was it that Rupert Murdoch become a U.S. citizen and the Mexican worker did not?

Rupert became a naturalized American in 1985, during President Reagan’s Iran/Contra Administration. Personally, I have always wondered just how Murdoch acquired his United States citizenship; did he study in school and pass a test like Mexican immigrant laborers have to do, or was he made a U.S.citizen by Act of Congress as some immigrants are? I will never know!

And so, Rupert specifically said, “. . . we must realize that it is suicidal to suggest closing our doors to the world’s entrepreneurs” What the. . . ? And here I always thought America had more than enough entrepreneurs.

Mr. Murdoch also said, “we need to do away with the cap on H-1B visas, which is arbitrary and results in U.S. companies struggling to find the high-skill workers they need to continue growing. We already know that most of the applications for these visas are for computer programmers and engineers, where there is a shortage of qualified American candidates. But we are held back by the objections of the richly funded labor unions that mistakenly believe that if we keep innovation out of America, somehow nothing will change.”

Ah yes, those wealthy AFL-CIO Computer Programmer Unions and AFL-CIO Engineer Unions have hordes of money from . . . from . . . from . . . say, where do Labor Unions get all that money?

In other words, American employers need cheap immigrant labor, especially foreign computer experts and engineers because all the American university graduates in Computer Science and Engineering are working at McDonald’s’

Rupert in a fit of Christian compassion, also wants to be fair to our Mexican neighbor immigrants, the illegal immigrant labor, and supports their cause saying, “We need to give those individuals (Mexicans?) who are already here—after they have passed checks to ensure they are not dangerous criminals—a path to citizenship so they can pay their full taxes.”

Now why in the world would a Mexican Laborer who wants to earn a living in the USA, do anything criminal to put his pay check in jeopardy; it would appear that Murdoch is simply projecting his own criminal phone hacking mind, upon Mexican immigrants.

Why doesn’t Rupert think entrepreneur immigrants need to prove they are not criminal entrepreneurs; it would appear to me that I hear about more entrepreneur criminals, like Rupert, in America than I do Mexican Farm Labor criminals.

And evidently, Rupert hasn’t been an American long enough to understand that those Mexican illegal immigrant workers actually do pay all their U.S. taxes; no one living and working in America gets out of taxes, the IRS takes it out of your pay and the retail cashiers add the tax to your purchase price.

You can tell the Rupert Murdock has not had much experience at being a US Citizen. He is also very careful not to commit a crime in America, Rupert only has been known to get caught breaking the law and hacking phones in the United Kingdom.

Oh Goodness, Gracious me, I yearn for the time Fox News did not exist, Rupert didn’t own the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, and the Washington Times, and Rupert Murdoch was an Australian; those were the days before Desert Storm in 1991, The U.S. Supreme Court, W. Bush Presidential ‘Selection’ in 2000, bin Laden’s 911 Terrorist Attack in 2001, The Afghanistan Invasion in 2001, the PNAC Iraq War of 2003, and the Shutdown of the U.S. Government in 2014.

Now Rupert wants to play a part in Immigration Reform. What hath Rupert wrought?
